The excavation of an open plot of ground took place in advance of a proposed development. One trench revealed part of a substantial medieval building with a well-constructed stone wall and an internal floor of beaten clay. The remains survived to within 0.2m of the ground surface and because of this plan to develop the site were dropped. A second trench to the east exposed further medieval features, probably in the yard area to the rear of the house, but a trench along the Eastborough frontage encountered only natural clay.
