The public house is one of the oldest buildings surviving in Osgodby

A watch was kept during the construction of a drain and the base of a garage in an area where previous fieldwalking had suggested remains of the medieval village of Osgodby might survive. In the event the work did not reveal anything of significance, the land having been disturbed by land drains and deep ploughing.
